I didn’t really do any research, we just really needed one asap with all the carpet and it said it was good for pet hair. This is the first vacuum I ever owned btw. Before I buy a bunch of replacement parts that may not be the problem, I am here to see if anyone has any other suggestions on what I can try or what might be wrong with it. So I tried to YouTube and found a guy replacing his belt on the same one I have but his brush was just spinning freely with the vacuum off so now I know mine IS supposed to do that but it isn’t. I plugged it in and the brush still won’t spin. So I figured that was the problem, spent the time carefully getting it out of the tube and removed more screws to make sure it was all clear. What I did find was a metric ton of cat fur stuck in the tube I guess where airflow has to go. The brush actually looks totally fine to me it just won’t spin. It wasn’t replaced too long ago, within the year and it’s still super stretchy. I had my boyfriend take it apart and he seemed to think it is the brush roll. So I cut as much of it out as I could and noticed the brush still wouldn’t spin so I figured the problem was deeper. Much to my chagrin, my hair was allllllll wrapped around the brush like a friggin rope. When I lived at home, I used to think my dad was ridiculous for blaming me everytime the vacuum broke so I haven’t told him yet he was right □ A few weeks ago, I was running it in my living room and it started to smell like burning rubber and started to smoke a little so I freaked out and unplugged it and started to inspect. We had two cats upon moving in and added a third last year so I try to vacuum atleast once a week and even that’s kind of pushing it but I work a lot. I had just moved into an apartment on the second floor and have wall to wall carpeting minus our kitchen and bathrooms. I bought it new two years ago at like target probably. So I currently own a Hoover elite plus rewind. Hi everyone! This is going to be a two part post I guess because I don’t mind being able to possibly fix my current vacuum but also have some questions about a possible replacement.
